WEBINAR

Conversations with U.S. Representatives on the State of Redevelopment Field

Historic federal legislation and funding through the American Recovery Plan and the Infrastructure bill (Build Back Better Act) will leave its mark on the redevelopment field for decades to come.

This month, the National Brownfields Coalition will host Representative Dan Kildee from Michigan’s 5th Congressional District in conversation with Representatives Turner (OH-10) and Sherrill (NJ-11), who recently introduced the Brownfields Redevelopment Tax Incentive Reauthorization Act of 2021 (Bill HR 4427). They will discuss bipartisan support for brownfield redevelopment, expectations on how billions in funding to assess and cleanup brownfields will impact communities and economic revitalization, and key issues the industry should embrace such as environmental justice and climate change. This will be a rare opportunity to hear from Representatives about why they support policies and funding to put environmentally-impacted and underutilized properties back into productive reuse.

* We will be sharing registration details for this event soon. Stay tuned!

CALL TO ACTION

The Brownfields Redevelopment Tax Incentive Reauthorization Act of 2021 needs your support

On July 13th, 2021, Representatives Turner (OH-10) and Sherrill (NJ-11) introduced the Brownfields Redevelopment Tax Incentive Reauthorization Act of 2021 in Congress to allow developers to deduct the cleanup costs of all contaminated property in the year the costs were incurred. Restoring this vital tax credit to revitalize our communities is long overdue. We encourage you to reach out to your Representatives today and urge them to support the bipartisan bill H.R. 4427.
