| | | | The State of Redevelopment Field |
| What could recent trends in legislation, federal and state funding, and climate impacts mean for the redevelopment industry and practitioners? In face of the wide range of opportunities, challenges, and uncertainties that were brought upon by the recent deployment of federal resources to support brownfield redevelopment, the National Brownfields Coalition is organizing a convening in mid-November to examine hot topics in the redevelopment field. We believe that the best ideas for improving the environmental and economic impacts of land redevelopment come from those who have spent time contemplating these big questions through their practice. In that spirit, we are leveraging the experience and resources from the Coalitions’ network and inviting suggestions for topics to focus on in the convening —whether legislative concerns, technical questions, ideas for the future, or anything in between. |

| | | | | | | | | | The Brownfields Redevelopment Tax Incentive Reauthorization Act of 2021 needs your support |
| On July 13th, 2021, Representatives Turner (OH-10) and Sherrill (NJ-11) introduced the Brownfields Redevelopment Tax Incentive Reauthorization Act of 2021 in Congress to allow developers to deduct the cleanup costs of all contaminated property in the year the costs were incurred. Restoring this vital tax credit to revitalize our communities is long overdue. We encourage you to reach out to your Representatives today and urge them to support the bipartisan bill H.R. 4427. |
