Our streets are designed to move cars as quickly as possible, at the expense of safety for all other travelers. Because of this, the number of people killed while walking on our roadways continues to rise—reaching 7,522 in 2022, marking a 40-year high and a 75 percent increase since 2010. The majority of these deaths occur on state-owned roads.
Our state representatives must intervene to address dangerous street design to curb these preventable deaths. Fill out the form below to send a message to your state elected officials, and take the opportunity to tell them about your experience with deadly roads in your state.
